Accelerating Innovation in Medical Device Development

Innovation labs are crucial for organizations to serve as bridges to external trends and technologies, providing a safe, experimental space for developing cutting edge ideas, products, fostering a culture of creativity including the testing of new concepts.

A designated space on-site at SPT Vilecon’s facility is designed to foster such creativity, collaboration, and development of new ideas, products, and technologies. The SPT Vilecon Prototype Lab excel in piloting and scaling innovative concepts, helping business partners and customers to identify new opportunities, ensuring they stay relevant and competitive in a fast-changing world.

Main categories of techniques:

  • Prototype manufacturing by 3D printing including multi-material systems, and SLA suitable for functional prototypes with high-detail, smooth-surface and good mechanical properties.
  • Machined plastic manufacturing and solutions
  • Injection Moulding solutions
Prototypes

SPT Vilecon strive to create solutions optimized for mass manufacturing ensuring that the design is cost effective considering Design for Manufacturing, scalable, and repeatable without compromising quality.

The Prototype Lab is highly integrated in SPT Vilecon’s organizational set-up bringing technical expertise, regulatory knowledge, and streamlined production capabilities. The close collaboration to ensure compliance with customer specified requirements, such as regulatory requirements e.g. the establishing of technical documentation i.e. design control activities or integration of mechanical structures with digital health platforms, electronics, sensors, or embedded systems to simulate real-world functionality.

Whether our business partners are to develop a novel sensor interface or testing the integrity of a wearable device design, our Prototype Lab bridges the gap between concept and final product, significantly easing the transition from prototype to scaling the manufacturing of medical devices. Our approach allowing multiple design iteration during design and development and involving manufacturing experts early integrating design for manufacturing principles has been proved achieving cost-effective, faster-to-market products.
